I have one query regarding AC-3 ticket. I have a confirmed AC-3 ticket in Shalimar Exp..but now one of my friend is also travelling with me. Due rakshbandhan time..its very heavy rush...so if he takes a waiting ticket for AC-3(or a general or sleeper waiting ticket)....so wat are the possiblity that he will be allowed to board in to AC-3 coach.
please also mention that wat will be charges..

If a PRS ticket of WL in 3rd Ac, upon on the request of you and non objection from the co passengers, he MIGHT be allowed to accompany along with you and you both have to adjust on the same seat/berth.
If its WL e ticket, then no chances of boarding the train.
If SL/General ticket is taken, still the passenger would not be allowed to ADJUST even if you wish to pay.

it means that...if i take a window ticket for AC-3 waiting...then my friend might be allowed.

Might be allowed but since you had mentioned that its a season with full rush, there would be several such cases.
My suggestion is to give a try for tatkal and then request the TTE for exchange of seats.
