keep standing due to lack of seats due to 2 reasons: one is the crowd and the other is because of the coach boards of 3 coaches. Since this train has rake sharing with SBC-HPT night train, 3 coaches are numbered S6, S7, S8. These coaches are General coaches as far as Shivamogga link is concerned and also many regular travellers deliberately mislead people saying it is reserved and lock the door.

2. Even if then seat is not available, at Birur the passengers travelling from Shivamogga can get down and board the Hubballi portion which is longer (some 16 coaches) and where seating is easily available.
