I would like to travel from Ramanathapuram to Mumbai LTT with single ticket ,there is no direct train from Ramanathapuram to Mumbai,My schedule is
Ramanathapuram to Salem(Train No 16733/fare 235/distance 376km)
Salem to Mumbai LTT(Train No11014/fare 555/ distance 1355km)
Total distance 1731km(telescopic fare is 650 almost)

gone to reservation counter,clerk told this is not possible with single ticket,
you have to take individual ticket or you can book a single ticket from Ramanathapuram to mumbai via Chennai.
From ramanathapuram to Chennai (distance 547km)
Chennai to Mumbai(distance 1280km)
Total distance is 1827km
He can give single ticket for 1827km,why don’t like to give 1731km distance,clarify my question and whether railway clerk don’t know this rules
