Lekin ek baat hai Upar wale deck me SL coach ka maza hi alag hoga
Russian Railways operates Double Decker sleeper train, Indian Railways should look towards that and follow that design. This Semi sleeper definitely wouldn't work.
We Indians are not used to this recliner sleeping style for long. It's bound to bea little uncomfortable if they keep up the passenger-capacity, and if they adjust with capacity, it's going to be unfeasible for railways
No, recliner seats will just reduce the per coach capacity of a DD rake so if UDAY trains will have that type of seating arrangement then it's going to be an another unsuccessful train. Russain railways operates DD complete sleeper trains and IR should simply follow that design.
Something drastic and very innovative design solutions are required for the AC DD coaches/trains being operated by IR to become successful.
Instead of current design, IR should look forward to the Double decker 300kmph trains being successfully operated by TGV Rly system. The bogie fitted at end of coaches in these trains-sets are highly suitable for DD coach construction. IR should try to go for DD coaches in a big way after it successfully start operating such kind of SHS train sets within a few years as per current plan. Till then it is better to keep introduction of new DD trains in the back burner, as they are most likely to be a failure today.
