I had a very similar experience Devang while travelling by Sealdah Rajdhani and I had posted it before. I am reposting it for the benefit of those who may not have been familiar with the site at that point of time.
I travelled in 2004 from New Delhi to Sealdah by 1AC (Bank's LTC facility) with my wife, both parents and son and daughter. We were allotted one cabin and one coupe. day the staff made UPMA for my parents with chutney. The food was very good and the staff were apologetic that they could not provide SAMBHAR because they didnt have the requisite MASALA and SAMBHAR POWDER with them.
Right from start to finish we were accorded ROYAL TREATMENT and my parents greatly enjoyed the experience. Although my father is now no more, my mother still talks of the UPMA they were served in the Rajdhani. We had never imagined that on-board BENGALI/BIHARI catering staff would be able to whip up and serve such excellent UPMA.
