Tirupati passenger has been converted to Express by speeding up 20 mins between MYS and SBC i.e. it will depart 10 mins late from MYS and reach TPTY 10 mins early... But if section speed of MYS and Chamarajanagar is increased.. it can be speeded by 15 more mins
From what I know.... the max speed LPs are allowed to accelerate to....

It is 10 mins b/n MYS and SBC and 20 mins b/n MYS-TPTY. My point was from end-end. If MPS of CMNR-MYS section is increased to 90, TPTY Passenger/express can be speeded up almost by 1 hr b/n CMNR and MYS
It's probably because the Earth below tracks is not fully stable. From what I've heard, it takes some time for ground to stabilize. Maybe that's why they're increasing MYS-CMNR stretch now, though gauge conversion was complete back in 2007.
