* Introduction of New trains is the most appreciable facility to the people because it is available wintin a few months of announcement, as compared to announcement of new rail lines which take decades to complete.
* So introduction of new trains (frequency increase + extension) is the most vexed issue which is always high jacked by RM/ Ruling party. Hence introduction of new trains is most politically influenced.

Tendency of RMs to create his/her own brand of trains and forcefully introduce his branded trains on all the routes - wanted as well as unwanted, is very badly hurting IR.
* Gatimaan, Mahamana, -Concept good but Wrong route
* UDAY Double decker trains-Wrong concept, wrong route selection, overnight travel is cumbersome
* HS (only ACIII coaches)- not a good concept, ACSF/Duronto(inclusion od all reserved classes) is much better.
* Only good thing in last 2-3 years is, states other than RMs' states are also gettin substantial number of trains where as in earlier regimes, RMs states were continuously pampered with too many trains.
