12301_KOLKATA_RAJDHA^~ 3655 blog postsSince its inception, this train has been functioning as a Bi-Weekly train. Only changes observed are apparent speeding up of this train from reaching its destination at 1705 Hrs instead of 1925 Hrs (earlier time, in case I got it correct) and providing it with LHB coaches recently, and changing its termination point to ANVT from NDLS .
No change in number of days, that even in such a busy route, and no provision of Pantry Car.
Adding to that, in majority of cases, this train is late, badly hit in MGS-ALD-CNB section....

The problem is not with speed, the problem is mainly congestion and priority. 12323 always gets rescheduled on Friday as 12324 arriving on that day gets highly trolled by NCR. If 12323 is given 130mps still that speed will be limited in ER and ECR only, it will not be able to gain that speed in NCR, being a biweekly train it will continue to get low priority in NCR. Giving the slot of Yuva or duro also will not help it to a great extend, the best example for this is Yuva exp - it is supposed to be the fastest train from Kolkata to Delhi but due to low priority in NCR the train always runs with huge late of 6-8 hours. I can see only one solution to this problem - construction of the 3rd line in NCR or the completion of DFC as fast as posible
