Can any India rail entusiast tell me what the word "SLIP" means at the end of the following: Vasco Howrah Amaravathi Express/8048-Slip.

Slip means a few coaches will be marked as Vasco-hyderabad and will be detached at Guntakal and attached to a train going to hyderabad.
The slip route commences at Dhone and not at Guntakal. Plz cross check.

The slip route indicates train for main route alongwith few coaches for a second route commencing from one of the intermediate stations of the main route. In your query, the 8048 train is for Vasco - Howrah. This train has few coaches for a route commencing from Dhone towards Kacheguda i.e. Vasco -Dhone-Kacheguda. Just or furthur information, the coaches of 8048 Vasco Kacheguda Slip express are attached to 7604/Yesvantpur Kacheguda Express at Dhone.
