Slip means a few coaches will be marked as Vasco-hyderabad and will be detached at Guntakal and attached to a train going to hyderabad.

The slip route commences at Dhone and not at Guntakal. Plz cross check.
@ first blooger :
The slip route indicates train for main route alongwith few coaches for a second route commencing from one of the intermediate stations of the main route. In your query, the 8048 train is for Vasco - Howrah. This train has few coaches for a route commencing from Dhone towards Kacheguda i.e. Vasco -Dhone-Kacheguda. These few coaches are physically detached from the main train 8048 and attached to another train going to Kacheguda. And

hence the train name 8048-slip to indicate that different route. For practical purposes, these are two trains i) Vasco -Howrah and ii) Vasco-Kacheguda via Dhone.
The passengers do not have to shift to another train but those coaches are detached and attached to another train.
