What would be a good way for IR to prevent passengers from taking headphones from the train? There have been cases of some headphones being stolen.

Pax should get their own headphones and connect with 3.5mm jack.
If they don't have headphones, they can demand it to attendant for it just like in 3A coach if we want towel we have to ask the attendant for it.
Afterwards, it should be attendants duty to collect the headphone back before the completion of the journey.

I think a caution money should be charged along with ticket charges which will be later given back to the pax if everything (like headphone, LCD screen) is found in its place in his seat
