Both Mail and Express can be superfast. All trains which have avg speed of 55 kmph or more from end to end in both directions are termed as superfast. It is independent of number of halts, distance, and train type.
Mail are term that were used by the british to trains which carried letters(Mails). there used to be seperate mail vans attached to these trains. They were given highest preference and use to never get late.
Right. In Golden Temple Mail, one can find such a separate coach for mails attached.
how u can say above 55 kmph, train is termed as superfast , lot of trains like saket and mahanagnri whose avg is above 55 is not superfast
Its a mandatory criteria, whether to term as superfast or not is at railways discretion.
