Aishbagh (ASH) - Sitapur (STP) 89Km section which is undergoing for gauge conversion since 15-May-2016 and as on date 80 to 90% work has been completed (Only track related; station building yet to get completed). If source to be believed a new intersection has been approved in GC where trains coming from Aishbagh (ASH) can go either to Sitapur (STP) or Sitapur Cantt. (SCC) which means new route from Aishbagh (ASH) to Shahjehanpur (SPN) will come in existence and this will server as alternative route from Lucknow junction (LJN) to Delhi (DLI/ANVT/NDLS) stations. This newly laid intersection will also help trains coming from Mailani (MLN) to go Gonda (GD) and Gorakhpur (GKP) route.
