and the train was extended to Jammu. During the late 90's, in a bid to reach out to the states not connected to the rest of the country by railways, several trains were renamed to include the names of those states (like Sikkim Mahananda, Mangala Lakshadweep etc). This train was also renamed to Andaman express at the same time.
