Do you think Noida & Greater Noida should have its own railway station? Currently population of noida & greater noida doesn't have proper connectivity from IR they have to take metro to reach NDLS,ANVT etc. or they have to depend on small stations like dadri to board EMUs towards Delhi or have to depend on road transport to reach NZM (which is nearest major station from noida as well as greater noida).

* Delhi Metro is giving a great service to the people and if they have Metro as last mile connectivity to Noida & Greater Noida region, with long distance rail terminals of Delhi, it is well and good.
* Long distance rail routes are not expected to provide last mile connectivity to all the area/ localities of Mega city of Delhi. Else there will be atleast 4-5 parallel lines with inter-spacing of 4-5 km for long distance trains.
* Constructing a rly line connecting DLI-MTJ route with NDLS-CNB route for long

distance trains is impractical and is going to be very costly affair (150-300 Crore Rs/Km) as it has to be constructed underground or elevated. This line defeats the very purpose of Metro trains.
* Shortcomings in Metro services if any should be rectified.

No sir I mean if a person wants to travel to Chennai from greater noida by train first he has to travel around 40-50 kms north towards NDLS or NZM then has to catch train to Chennai whether he uses metro or any kind of transport. It is true that railways cannot provide long distance trains to each and every corner of Delhi but like they're going to build another airport at Greater Noida railways can also build a new railway terminal at Noida which can provide some weeklies to other metro cities of India or a new railway line from NDLS-MTJ route to NDLS-CNB route and as much I know locations near to Greater Noida are mostly rural areas and there isn't need of building underground or elevated lines except in faridabad.

Better option is Mathura for Mumbai bound passengers. And also GZB is too busy station, better will be hapur/meerut with junction at dadri.
