Once the Tambaram terminal is set open, which trains should be transferred from Chennai Egmore / Central to Tambaram

Good Point. But isn't development of Tondiarpet as 4th Terminal also on cards. Given that it is situated towards North in the Gudur line, aren't trains like MS-GHY, Andaman etc more likely to be shifted there? Time will tell what Southern Railway has thought about using the new terminals. One thing that I would guess is that trains that were shifted to Chengalpattu from MS, might be shifted back to Tambaram after new terminal is operational. As of now, as you rightly said, long distance trains should be shifted to Tambaram.
