Ok why not using loco on both sides like 16057/58 54/53 between TPTY RU.
It's the same problem with a lot of weekly trains. And a loco link from AK would hav to be provided by CR, which does not have many trains of it's own running towards SWM. So, they tend to run such trains with end-to-end Diesel locos. It's more for operational convenience as they need not have to arrange a loco link for one weekly train.
i dont think now a days it uses two locos from TPTY-RU...last time when i travelled loco attached at RU
At least as of July 2016, it was running with 2 locos between RU-TPTY, with the loco at the TPTY end being attached at RU on the journey to TPTY and the loco at the RU end being detached at RU on the way back to MAS.
