Purulia Junction under SER to go through massive upgrades. On Wednesday, DRM ADRA confirmed that many development works are to be done at Purulia. Due to slow tender works at Bokaro, the division could not serve PRR. At present, the station is categorized as an A Category station but to the irony only platform 1 is updated, all the rest lacks numerous facilities. Their is no complete shed in platform no. 2,3,4-5. We are going to start work on that soon. More food units and multi purpose stores will be installed. Advanced Announcement System along with multi colour coach LED indicators, Train Boards, Electronic Reservation Charts and an escalator 1st at pf 4-5 will be added soon. Platform no. 4-5 surfacing work is to be done at first followed by others. -said DCM
