Hi All, I have to travel from Mughalsarai to Bangalore but I was not getting confirmed ticket so booked the ticket from Patna to Bangalore. I know that I can get the boarding station changed to mughalsarai by going to reservation counter. I need below details/confirmation:
1. When I change my boarding station will my confirmed status of the ticket will also change to waiting list? I hope not as my PNR will not be changing but looking for confirmation from experts here.
2. How much in advance I can apply for this...

Thanks. Yes when I tried to select a different boarding point while online booking. But do you know if I can change the boarding station to a different quota station. I went to a railway station in Bangalore and he told I will have to talk to chief reservation office of main railway station in the city and also he told since my new boarding station does not fall in same quota as old one change of boarding station is not gauranteed. I am kind of confused and scared at the same time as I booked the ticket thinking I would be able to change the boarding for sure.
