there has been several news regarding doubling as well as electrification of CNB - FBD - KSJ but it didnt mention whether CPA - MDA can be doubled or not.
just by appearance, it seems doubling this 16km section parallel to GT road (N34, old no NH91) might be a challenge.

Definitely political willingness is required here along with the attention of NER.
I have read in a news article that an elevated section is being surveyed over the present tracks but the elevated metro planned over GT Road may turn down the plan of RLY's.

Actually, mda - pnk new line proposal has been surveyed but to IR, they didn't expect it to be fruitful. So more likely, dhande baste mei woh yojana.
Both NER n NCR have denied for it. They r also worried abt d expensive land cost...
