Telangana MPs meet Suresh Prabhu for railway land allotment

A delegation of MPs from the State led by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha met Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu at New Delhi on Tuesday and requested him for alloting railway land in Secunderabad for the construction of 2-BHK houses taken up by the State government.
The State MPs apprised the Minister that transfer of land to the tune of 12.16 acres in Sy.no 34/P of Lalaguda village to the State government would facilitate speeding of construction of houses, which would be provided free of cost to the poor people as part of the urban housing programme.
Quoting the Railway Principal Chief Engineer’s letter the MPs told the Minister that the land entrusted to the Railway land development authority for commercial development was yet to be used and laying vacant.
Latter speaking to press persons Kavitha said the Minister had assured to them consider the request made by the State government and the land would be utilised for the construction of 2-BHK houses. The issue was already represented to the Railway Minister by the Minister of Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao during his recent visit to Delhi.
Minister for Excise T Padma Rao Goud, party MPs K Vishweshwar Reddy, G Vinod and Malla Reddy were part of the delegation.
In the meantime Kavitha requested the Minister for setting up solar power stations at Nizambad and Jagtial railway stations and renaming Anksapur railway station to Padgal railway station. She also requested to cut down the gap between track and platform at Navipet railway station by constructing ROBs at Navipet and Arsapally railway stations.
She requested for extension of Tirupathi- Karimnagar train service up to Jagtial and Nizamabad express upto Jagtial, and introduction of a new train from Warangal to Shirdi via Jagtial and Nizamabad.
