Durgapur: Purulia, Balarampur, Chandil and Jamshedpur will be directly connected to Grand Chord, Malda, Silliguri by 2028. The Purulia-Duragpur Phase I new line has been sanctioned by SER. There are lots of people travelling between them via Asansol, Kolkata cause of lack of direct connectivity said officials. The earlier snactioned one is now properly planned.
Phase I will be between Chatna-Hura-Purulia on the existing Mukutmanipur route plan. Chatna-Durgapur Barrage halt section will be completed after surveys subsequently.
