does a loco pilot itself brings the loco from loco shed to the train that needs to get attached or does shunter does it?

In stations locos are moved to yard loco shed trip shed are done by shuntters, Duty of loco pilot will be finished at the signal point where the train is stopped. In some circumstances the loco pilot will be doing shunting duty. In PGTN the duty is done by loco pilot itself.
