I think because of rainy season they might have attached bankers to your train....
Once I was travelling from HBJ to BZU, in Dakshin, hauled by LGD WAP-7.... They didn't attach any banker at Dharaqoh..... When we were in the middle of Ghat section, suddenly it started raining heavily....and guess what... The mighty WAP-7 was not able to pull the train (something similar to wheel slip was happening, due to combo of slope + wet rails).... It was defeated by the mighty Mahadev Ghats.... Then after 30 minutes TWIN AJNI WAG-9s came to our rescue...

trains require bankers in monsoon season
In non-monsoon season,
-Trains hauled by WAP-7 don't require a banker while climbing/descending Ghats...
-Trains hauled by WAP-4 and >18 coaches require bankers while climbing (<18 coaches don't require)
-No idea about WAP-5 (you can ask member with screen name "WAP-5" regarding this, he has every piece of info about WAP-5) as they rarely visit this region....only INDB-NGP Express gets WAP-5 on a regular basis
