Connecting Belagavi and Bagalkot via new line(approx 110 kms), Lokapur to Sulebhavi. This will also provide shorter route between Hyderabad/Kalburagi and Belagavi/Goa via Bjp/Bgk.

Looking at the poll results, swr took right decision to go with dharwad - lokapur line instead of this belagavi - lokapur. Good this helping
Incidentally, today's TOI has a report on Belagavi-Bagalkot-Raichur highway development. A portion Belagavi-Yaragatti has been developed as per Global standards and will be inaugurated next month. Good, some development for N.KA. on the road front if not rail.

God knows when Bagalkot-Lokapura-Kudachi New line will complete. Then that will also provide shorter commute for Belagavi-Hyderabad.

Yes KA SH 20, is on well built standards. click here
Dharwad - Lokapur - Vijayapura Highway KA SH 34 to also on the global standard model, still rail in under consideration between Dharwad and Lokapur. Similar for Bagalkot Kudachi line, KA SH 18 Mudhol - Chikkodi - Nippani is there in parallel. I think SWR is now building new lines in parallel to state and national highways. another example is Davanagere - Tumakuru new line in parallel to Golden Quadrilateral.

Bro, what happened to Dharwad-Kitturu-Belagavi new line proposal which will reduce distance between South KA and BGM/Pune/CSTM?? Is that shelved ??
Almost, Because swr stated that now Dwr - Londa doubling almost done and Londa - Bgm doubling in process. Once completed they are claiming Dwr - Ld - Bgm can be achieved within 100 minutes, Londa by-pass is also under consideration which will save another 15 mins. I doubt about Kittur line getting sanctioned, another reason is if Dwr - Lokapur line gets sanctioned they will by-pass Belagavi also. Trains to Mumbai will go like Mys/Bluru-Dvg-Ubl-Dwr-Lokapur-Kud-Mrj-Pune-Mumbai
