(10 min. walk), you have 2 shops where army equipments are sold by private entities, seemed original and cheap. Options available near the road to buy the famous big sized apples.
Amritsar is 104 km away, well connected by highway. 2- 3 hotels at the opposite side of the road. Hotel Mehar's is very good. Hotels seem to be empty but get influx when passengers have no other option than to stay because of train delays. Burgain if you can. Car rentals available on the same street.
It is a village area actually. Big Army and Air force bases are situated nearby. Fighter jets will disturb your ears many times a day by flying very low.
