Passengers seek to advance Amrita’s departure to Madurai.
Passengers’ organisations are seeking to advance its departure from Palakkad Junction to enable Rameswaram-bound passengers to catch a passenger train that leaves Madurai Junction at 12.50 p.m.The train reaches Palakkad Junction at 6.15 a.m. from Thiruvananthapuram. But its journey to Madurai starts only by 7.45 a.m. As per the present schedule, the train will reach Madurai at 1.10 p.m. If the train starts its journey from Palakkad at 7 a.m., it can reach Madurai by 12.30 p.m. That would help passengers to Rameswaram to catch the passenger train,” said Khader Moidheen of the Palakkad-Pollachi Rail Passengers Association
