Is it safe to take 12011-52455 NDLS to SML? Can I trust this train to be on time or expect 52455 to wait at KLK? I am planning to travel to Shimla in December. Any suggestions?

From February to November, it's safe.
From December to January, if 12011 isn't rescheduled, it's safe.
It's an official connection but won't wait all day for 12011.

It will wait till the point where it can reach Shimla before sunset. The schedule of crossings with return trains goes haywire if it's rescheduled. This isn't a BG section. For out of place crossings, trains may have to wait for hours for a single crossing.

Looplines do exist but stations are 6-10 kms apart and it takes 30-40 minutes or so to cover 10kms
