How is the quality of food and service on that train now? the Kitchen car then used to be managed departmentally by WR. The service especially in First AC used to be fantastic, The food used to be served by the waiter from serving bowls on to plates and give liberal second helpings
Just curious how is the food in terms of quality and service now? Is the catering contract with a contractor now?

Superb food and service. I traveled AC First on this train from Mumbai to New Delhi on Oct 14. The train also reached each one of its intermediate stops before time, which was a pleasant surprise considering its average speed. However, a delay in the outskirts of New Delhi had the train delayed to its destination by 30-35 minutes.
Thanks... I am particularly interested whether the waiters move from cabin to cabin serving the dishes on the plates...rather than having small bowls of foodgiven on a tray like the rest of the trains..
They do serve moving the main dish moving from cabin to cabin. The rest is served on tray.
