I have a PNR status of WL 4 and WL 5 in 2A for 21st Dec'11 from YPR to HWH.What is the chance of it getting confirmed ? If at all it gets confirmed, when will we be able to know the berth allottment (i.e. berth nos.). Is there a chance of getting berths nearby ? I have heard that if a ticket gets confirmed from waitlist, they will allocate only side upper berths. Is it true ?

this is not a myth.i donno abt AC passengers but when i travel in sleeper classes in this train, whenever my tickets got confirmed, i was alloted side upper berths only.incase it didn't get confirmed but get an RAC status, i always use to get side lower berth sharing with one more passenger.
Confirmation after WL has lead to all type of Berth Allocation to me!!
Yes, chances are always for least preferred berth, but who knows if u have ur own set of preferred chanced remained vacant @ charting!!
