Dadar Mid-Town Terminus was opened on this day in 2009
The plan of ‘Dadar Mid-Town Terminus’ was conceptualized for further rail development and for convenience of passengers of Mumbai, it become a reality from 21st November, 2009.
Dadar is an important junction station of Western and Central Railway located at approx. 10 Kms from Churchgate station of Western Railway and approx. 9 Kms from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Central Railway. The work of Dadar Mid-Town Terminus was developed as part of Virar- Borivali quadrupling work. This quadrupling project has been completed and commissioned on 7th July 2007.
A terminus existed on the eastern side which served Central Railway trains. With opening of Dadar terminus on Western side, load on Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus has been eased. Dadar Mid-Town terminal is constructed at a cost of Rs.15.2 crore. Waiting Room, Water Coolers, seating arrangements etc. available at the terminal.
Presently, four trains depart from Dadar Mid-Town terminal.
