Earlier they allowed smoking in long distance journey. Now its completely banned? its very difficult to travel for 2-3 days without it..

Yes it differs. Once i was travelling in Mumbai nagpur duronto and i have got upper birth , lower birth was occupied by TTE. That time i noticed 3 times the TTE went somewhere and came with smell of ciagarette.
Another incident while travelling in mumbai hyderabad express. The train was packed that day and though 90 % passengers in our coach were Ck passengers a lot of people came into our coach and 3-4 beggers started to smoke near Bathrooms. TTE came and said nothing to them. In seats near bathroom there were lady passengers travelling with family and complaining. But TTE did nothing.

Smoking is common now a days, people who educated will search for some corner place and finish smoking.
It become their habit no one can't stop them, But most people don't trouble others.
