Konkan Railway's Ro Ro (Roll On Roll Off) train is a complete rake of trucks which are transported between Roha-Verna-Surathkal. There are 2-3 services per week.''RORO means Roll On Roll Off, where loaded trucks are directly carried by railway wagons to their destination. Konkan Railways passes through tough terrains of India. There is NH-17 passing through same route. Truck drivers find it extremely difficult to drive loaded trucks through ghats, undulating surfaces, narrow roads and poor road and weather conditions. The KRC came with concept of RORO, where loaded trucks are moved on wagons and are travelled by train. This has helped in saving of fuels, decrease in wear and tear of lorries (trucks), relief to drivers of driving in extreme conditions, can reach faster to destination. This also helps in decongestion of roads and lowering of pollution. This concept has been beneficial for both truck operators and KRCs.''

Because we are the best! :). I dont think it is a question of roads, overall it is good for everyone... Frankly, I dont know maybe others can guess the reason. Lets try and find out
Other lines are already having good freight activity. They earn more while transporting containers/coal etc. This is not so profitable for them . If they operate a BCNA rake instead of the RO-RO they will earn much more...
Actually Management School tells us that it is easier for new organisations to implement new ideas than old organisations to implement new ideas. There is something called ''Resistance to change''. Also new freight ideas don't get as much publicity as passenger services so maybe the other zones prefer to direct their energies towards passenger services.
Yeah.. This maybe a good reason. If some organisation is making enough money, they they may not feel the need for diversifying their customer base.
