I have bought a second class sleeper ticket from SC to VSKP by Godavari Train 2728. Is it possible to board the train at HYB station which is the starting point (the train charge being the same from both HYB and SC stations to VSKP).The distance from HYB to SC station is about 3.5 KM and both stations comes under HYDERABAD ALL STATIONS. In case if TC asks to pay penalty how much penalty is charged as per the railway rules? Kindly give me details.

as per rules,you will be charged the minimum sleeper class fare i.e. Rs.90+250rs.fine.this is applicable if there is no speed restriction in the region of your travel or else the fare of minimum distance permissible+250rs.fine...but in reality you will not be fined because tte will not come in that region and even if he comes he is considerate.i have myself travelled several times from sdah after my ticket was from dumdum,a distance of 11 kms.from dumdum.
sorry,i meant kilometre restriction and not speed restriction...and ha,the fare of ticket purchased by you will be deducted if you have got a general ticket and you will be handed and EFT(extra fare tkt)if the tte comes and is adamant and bent upon to fine you.
The person can just buy a General ticket for Rs 13 and then climb on to the fartheset compartment and walk through each compartment slowly. By the time his compartment comes Secunderabad would have come. But then there is a risk.
as per rule not allowed and you cannot purchase tkt for godavari sf from hyd to secunderabad with that cost you can reach sec station more quickly .but normally no body askes and fine you (not as per rule) you can tell to tte and board.even some tte join in secunderabad only

even better keep your luggage at your berth and go for a loo...till one washes his hands,3.5kms is easily gone...
