Actually PGT coach factory was proposed during Indira Gandhi time itself, arround 1977 ,if I remember. Later it got shifted to Kapurthala.
Once again brought up by railways when they created Salem division from Palakkad division . Then some union min. laid a foundation stone in 2011 and after that nothing has happened. So , the fact is that that , even after nearly 35-40 years after proposal, the only development that has happened is an 'Foundation stone' .!
