Honestly speaking, when MAO Raj was introduced by Mr. Prabhu, I thought it as an act of showering largesse. Its patronage appeared questionable and increasing frequency of TVC Raj a better option. Now this train with respectable 18 no. of coaches is well patronised. This underdog and almost never talked about Raj has turned out to be a young turk with a message that a smaller city like Goa can give patronage to a biweekly raj.

Important observations pertaining to BSP Raj:
(1) BSP Raj is only Raj operating on SECR zone BSP-NGP route. Not many premium trains run on this section.
(2) BSP-NDLS via KTE-BINA is just 1137kms where as BSP Raj runs via R-NGP BSP a much longer route of 1506kms. Even a much slower CGSK take 2:40 hrs lesser than BSP Raj. For BSP the Raj is not a good train for Delhi and its BSP-R run is not well patronised
