For Rameshwaram, train has to go through old Pamban bridge. Pamban bridge is so old that it needs continuous maintenance for running of each train. They inspect it after and before every train passing. Many workers lost their life also during maintenance. Moreover, its construction cannot be repaired.
So my point is what if new trains are made to run from Ramanathapuram. I mean in state trains which for daily passengers rather than for pilgrims. Ramanathapuram is well connected by roads. The more introduction of trains for Rameshwaram, more tension about bridge and more risk to workers. Give your opinions. This is just an idea.
