This Technique under CPR is Just Amazing Hauling Such a Long Goods Wagons With Four Locos, Two at front, one in the middle and the last one act as banker.
The Mixture of all Wagons gives a terrific look.

I believe accommodating such a long freight train on mainline can be the reason. I belong to SECR and python are such a mess as neither they can`t be looped or can be hauled continuously keeping the mainline free.
