SG= Self Generation to cater hotel load where the train has few air conditioned coaches.
EOG= End-on Generation to cater hotel load where the train has all air conditioned coaches such as Rajdhani, Shatabadi and Duronto trains.
HOG= Head-on Generation. IR is going for HOG scheme owing to its advantage of environment friendly and energy efficient.

sorry for nit-picking...but you forgot to mention...eog also present in garib rath trains

I was in shock when I dont heard any noice form EOG. Then got it confirmed form Pilot that it is on HOG and some of P-5 have this capability.

Sir i have mentioned where the train has all air conditioned coaches such as Rajdhani ,Shatabadi and Duronto trains, not given the full list of trains having all ac coaches.

HOG was conducted for trails with a WAP-5 n one WAP-7 was equipped with HOG!!!
HOG is supposed to b used when the EOG fails to deliver the supply.
then the LP's wil activate the HOG mechanism which wil supply power from overhead wires to the coaches thru Hotel Load connectors!!
