Got can change the ways of working of about 15 lac people, bringing them out of their comfort-zone, to do something good for the country and its citizens at large. It may result in negatively influencing the 15 lac people, but it can positively influence 70 crore voters as well! It depends on thinking of Govt, and is a matter of short- sightedness of far-sightedness.

70 crs people wont observe the good. Negative spreads easily. Its not only 15 lakh people , its their familes avd 4 members which is 60 lakhs. Some Media is just need 6 persons to show negative side of a good decision.
As E. Sridharan said better go away with railway board and split IR into 3 separate entities as per his suggestion. Unfortunately this govt not ready to any reforms instead making number game. Hope if they come again in 2019 things may change.

* Govts are always busy roasting political chapatis wasting the prescious resources of IR. All the RMs in past (Except Mr. Prabhu) have tried their best to wield more and more financial powers over IR funds to boost their electoral fortunes.
* IR bureaucracy similarly kept their own welfare supreme and were least bothered about the pax needs and market demands.
* To put IR on right track of efficient operation & management, private sector have to be gradually involved into railway marketing, train operation and eventually constructing & owning rail lines.

We always cannot blame govt for every things. People of india should have minimum knowledge about our transportation. Many dont know how railway works. As long there is a people movement nothing gonna change in this country. For politicians its always votes game. In Vajpaee time we have seen some honest people. Now all parties just working for their vote banks or dont want to target biggest vote banks.
