Such percentage of migrant workers must be very little who can afford flight fares. If the employer is paying the same once a year i can understand. For flights to sustain over a long period of time there needs to be regular occupancy. Earlier few years ago, Jet did have services and one more flight operator ( i think it was Spice Jet) had services between Kochi-Kolkata.
Unfortunately both had to discontinue due to poor occupancy. Hopefully this time they must be having some good data before them to start flights !! . We will have to wait and watch

These types of news keep on coming every 1-2 years. In English papers, I have seen there is only paper 'New Indian express' publishing the same news over and over again . Below is an article published in year 2016 and then the same person has done a copy paste job and published the same again in 2018 two days ago. Only a slight change in words.
In 2016 also it was mentioned that Indigo might start services. Now also it is mentioned the same thing !!
