take is:
1. Admins and Monitors have vast powers over members. Many use it and help.
But many are just in "self-serving mode" (stamping their own TL and not bothering with others') and that leaves just few Admins and Monitors to do bulk of the job.
2. When few do all the work, there is a backlog and also sometimes leads to arguments which again burdens the FMs.
3. Now, FMs though temporarily appointed to monitor the forum, have to do the heavy lifting mostly concerning with TLs - A time consuming and thankless job, FM job is.
4. So I believe that the power to approve TLs should be given to those who are ACTIVE, who approve others' too.
5. I am talking of a fluid system, where performance matters and those non-performers are yanked off their power.
6. Many have addressed this issue in main forum, polls or direct question to Moderator. Every time its just lip service and no concrete action. No proper solution to an ever occurring problem. Shouldn't there be transparency, accountability?
7. If this is forum of equals, then accountability should be there.
