before IRI, I used to read the news of Dainik Jagaran, Amar Ujala and other dailies on almost regular basis scouring for rail-related news.
No, I don't have any info like this. but, I remember, had read somewhere that Lucknow Mail was started in the 1970s. then it was not daily and Hapur halt was also not there. The oldest train on LKO-MB was Saharanpur passenger and 13005/06 grand Punjab Mail which used to go till Lahore.

i always wished if IRI had history/trivia tab as well.

In LKO-HRI-SPN section, 14235/36 is popularly known as "local". while 54377/78 Prayag-Bareilly pssg. is known as "trumba".
