May_I_have_your_atte~ 2863 blog postsRecently there has been a trend of demanding a halt of a premium train like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, etc in comparatively small halts by various politicians. The most recent one is Falna halt of Gujarat Rajdhani. Other examples are Parasnath halt of Howrah Rajdhani, Naugachia halt of Dibrugarh Rajdhani, Nagda halt of Mumbai Rajdhani, Muri halt of Bhubaneswar Rajdhani, etc

So do u think it's high time that Railway Board should impose some strict norms or impose some criteria for a Station to get the halt of a Rajdhani category train????

Naugachia Halt is justified because it's a part of BGP. It takes only 1 hr from BGP City.
The most important criteria should be:-
1) The public turnout to a particular place to both origin and destination of premium train.
2) The importance of that particular city in terms of rail infrastructure, tourist input to the particular city and its importance to a particular region.

The criteria should be like that
1. It should be atleast a A grade station.
2. There should be atleast 20 tickets of Bording and 20 tickets of deboarding from that station.
3.the halt should not disturb the avg speed of that train .

Naugachia may be for Bhagalpur. Nagda was for AK earlier later it was removed and given to older Raj. If I see any obscure place, I try to know about the place and whther any big place is nearby.
