Here is something I learnt.
The special to BGM doesn't go empty to UBL (as many commented here) , but stays at Desur I think.
See this video by Mr. Shridhar Hulikavi.
It is going towards UBL, but he gets off at Desur. That means it is not stopping at Desur just like that.... but halts there itself on Sat, Sun

I wish railfans like him joined IRI. An active railfan who posts so many videos from BGM - a place from where we don't get much railfanning pics, videos.
Maybe he doesn't know about IRI.
Hope someone comments in his video about IRI and he joins IRI and posts more videos here :)

One more Disadvantage about going hubli by train from gadag compared to Bus is train takes much time to drop pax at hubli station cause single line crossings with freights and pass trains and atlast whn u reach UBL outer you will be made to wait to get starter to enter UBL yard due to unavailibity of PF or why they do dont know but train makes us waste our 10-15 min near UBL itself as it enters yard so slowly that ppl start getting out and make walk and go in hurry. If they even introduce DEMU service their should be priorty for them to entr UBL and depart to DWR as soon as possible so that public time should not be wasted compared to Bus journey.And i think for such rides we need Double line for now instance and tripple line in future if passenger growth increase means trains...
