I remember when Mumbai and AK rajdhani both used to run with max capacity throughout the year and situation changed immediately after the introduction of Flexi fare. Thanks to the inventor of Premium train system for making a mess of IR. Dynamic fare pricing should only be applicable in planes coz planes and trains cant be compared.
Its expected to be more. Better investing UDAN than bullet train. Many operations airports now in india. People prefers flights in many routes these days.
If flexifare is withdrawn, demand for Raj/Shat/Duro seats/berths shall jump by to atleast 1.5 times the current level and
- almost all of them will run with cent percent occupancy
- Many of them shall be augmented with additional coaches
- Frequency of many such trains shall be increased

IR has very less number of AC coaches
Trains like Suryanagri must have 12 AC coaches but at present they have much less , many tickets remain WL ... So people are forced to travel by Air.

The loss of share of premium (ac class) rail paxs had been lappedup by airlines which have enjoyed 18% yearly growth in the number of paxs in last 3-4 years.
