NAGPUR-NAGBHID (NGP-NAB) IN MAHARASHTRA under SEC railways, 100 km gauge conversion should get priority for following reasons-
1. it will open up the cheap accessibilty for the 20 lakh poor people of chandrapur and gadchiroli districts of maharashtra to reach to nagpur for education and jobs.
2. these 2 districts are most backward districts in maharashtra, needs urgent and easy access to nagpur

at present only NG passenger train runs between NGP-NAB ,costs 20 Rs but takes 6 hrs ( bus takes 2 hrs but 100 Rs)
4. this conversion will open up alternative route as BPQ- NAB- NGP for most important delhi-chennai connection. At present all trains take BPQ- wardha_ NGP. the distance is same 210 km for both routes.
5. Currently BPQ-wardha- Nagpur is one of the busiest track in country as it overlaps east-west and northsouth traffic . I heard railway is building 3 rd line on this route. I believe rather than constructing 3 rd line on this route (BPQ-NGP)which might cost huge amount for land acquisition, the NAB- NGP gauge conversion will reduce the traffic on NGP-wardha_BPQ route and will cost only 100 crore Rs.
6. land acquisition is not an issue on this route and britishers have already spared land almost sufficient for 3 lines. Survey is already done but railway is not providing funds because of poor representation by MPs in parliament. ( though it was declared in 2010-11 budget)
7. All goods traffic can be diverted on this route as at present BPQ- NAB (part of BPQ-Gondia) has only 4 passengers and 2 weekly express trains running. So much of investment in Gondia- BPQ is going waste as NAB-NGP and gondia jabalpur are still NG.
8. to summarize- 100 cr Rs can change life of 20 lakh people in one yr along with reducing the congestion over other busy route. but still railways want to add 3rd line over NGP-BPQ with 1000 cr which will not solve any purpose!!!!!
