Requested our Madurai Railway division and Southern Railway that Sivakasi City (nick named குட்டி ஜப்பான் Kutti Japan) Railway station needs Pit line and Terminal facilities. It has enough Railway lands for these Infrastructure facilities.
Sivakasi City Railway station to the GH road (southern side) lands are belongs to the SR. This area lands shall be utilized for additional buildings.
The British government era, MG goods shed area in Sivakasi Station northern side and Railway lines from the Vellaiyapuram gate to the Srivilliputhur gate area
...
also belongs to the SR.
Moreover, beyond Srivilliputhur gate area the dismantled Alangulam cement factory MG line lands also belongs to the SR.
By utilizing these areas Pit line and stabling lines and additional platforms shall be formed.
The demand for pit line and terminal facilities for Sivakasi City in Virudhunagar district is justified.
Even Southern most tiny Kanniyakumari district has pit line facilities and terminal facilities. It has two outlets Railway line one via Tirunelveli and another via Thiruvananthapuram.
So we strongly demand pit line facilities for Sivakasi city which is situated at the center point in our Virudhunagar district.
Moreover, till date no Pit line and Terminal facilities are available in the entire Virudhunagar district.
Virudunagar district area and population are more than double than the tiny Kanniyakumari district.
So Southern Railway and Indian Railway have to be considered Terminal and Pit line facilities for Sivakasi City Station. Moreover nearby (3km) Thiruthangal Railway station also merged with the Sivakasi City shortly.
