We in india criticizes indian railway for its speed 110km/hr to 150km/hr compared to abroad railway which is 200km/hr to 400km/hr , but one fact is also there indian train are more longer with 22 to 24 coaches which is almost near to 1km comapre to foreign railway which is very small in length about 8 to 12 coaches so its very easy to controll short train when it is in high speed then longer train, the chances of derailment of shorter train are very less compare to longer train. so what is opinion of you people?

i agree with you technology differs then why goods train in india gets derailed very easily compared to exp/mail even in a speed of 60km/hr? i guess goods train are very long than exp/mail ,both run with same technology? even bhopal shatabdi which runs with 150km/hr has only 14 coaches

Goods trains are one of the most complicated driven trains. even though its a single WDG-4/WAG-9, the wagons aren't soo easy to b driven. compared to coach, the freight wagon or tanker hauls tons of materials. derailments occur due to technical error, or manual error.

Sir, when average speeds are low, It is better to run with more coaches, keeping in mind the operational convinience.

if i know correctly, the loco pilots are first trained on goods trains and than only they are upgraded to passenger trains. now if goods trains are more difficult to drive, than is it not an injustice to the loco pilots ???

Even I feel during summer HWH/SDH/PNBE/GHY/RNC rajdhani should run with more coaches as the speed is anyway low because of fog.
This would help more passengers when flights are cancelled. Also helps railways to get more money.
