जितना अधिक हम स्टॉप बढाते हैं, उससे ट्रेनों में अधिक विलंब होता है, क्योंकि जब तक ट्रेन स्टेशन से नही निकलती, सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से अगले स्टेशन से गाड़ी शुरु नही होती, ऐसी स्थिति में जितना अधिक स्टॉप हम बढ़ा रहे हैं, उतना अधिक रेलवे के कैपेसिटी कांस्ट्रेंट बढ रहे हैं: @PiyushGoyal

This statement is highly questionable in light of modern technology and signalling equipment available that is capable of placing rakes just short of the next station's platform even. Having said that, increasing stops definitely slows down the train's overall travel time due to deceleration, stoppage time, potential signal clearance wait time, and then acceleration back to MPS. In addition, increasing stops impacts the time taken to reach destination for end to end passengers making the journey unviable for them in some cases. So the sentiment is laudable, but the reason given is not appropriate.
