If they are part of same ticket, I mean in a single ticket if few berths are confirmed and few are waitlisted as far as I know all can board

As per rule you can't board the AC coach.But your money has been received by the Railways.so you can take the permission of the TTE and adjust yourself with others,if they allow you.
